– We welcome the public as a year of collaboration between Epoken and the Center for Art and the Political Imaginary comes to head.
September 26, 7:00–9:00 p.m.
Over the course of the year, Epoken and CAPIm have developed a partnership, and on September 25–27, CAPIm will host its second Research Annual, “Epochality: Art and the Limits of the Present.” Over the course of three days in Stockholm, artists, researchers, and other participants will come together to explore questions about eras, time, and our ability to understand the present moment in which we find ourselves. This year’s CAPIm program includes, among other things, a keynote address by Professor Yuk Hui (Erasmus University Rotterdam), whose work focuses on technology, art, and the conditions of our time.

The program culminates on-site at Fagernäs in Mölnbo with a performative community service dedicated to the emergence of Epoken. There, we explore the site while turning our gaze toward the new era that is taking shape. Through conversation and physical labor, we experiment with different ways of understanding our present and what lies ahead.
On Saturday evening, the new venue in Mölnbo will open to the public. We’ll gather around the bonfire, listen to pre-apocalyptic music, and drink alchemical concoctions mixed with invasive plants in an bar set inside a industrial sarcophagus.
7:00 p.m. LIGHTING THE FUTURE FIRE
As darkness falls, we light a fire made with wood, brush and thorns collected from the site. We then gather around the bonfire in our new landscape now filled with friends.
7:45 p.m. VOX VULGARIS feat. Nora Shark & Luthando Sound
The post-authentic, pre-apocalyptic, and anti-medieval band Vox Vulgaris performs newly composed music for a world that does not yet exist.
