Residency program

At regular intervals, Art Lab Gnesta invites artists to work in our residency program. We have two project studios, and workshops that make it possible to work together with our other ongoing projects and networks. Each visit is individually organized with the goal of following the artistic process. This means that the projects are all different – we want to support anything from short visits to new, full-scale productions that can also be presented in the exhibition program.

Since 2012, the residency program at Art Lab Gnesta has been developed together with professional artists, designers and researchers such as Cajsa von Zeipel, Paula Urbano, Ingela Ihrman, Kultivator, Zeenat Nagree, Maryam Fanni, Rikard Heberling, Kati Roover, the Hägersten Botanical Gardens, Hanna Husberg, Tobias Bernstrup, Malin Franzén, Munish Wadhia, Åsa Norman, Lina Sofia Lundin, Franz Petter Schmidt, Éva Mag, Gideonsson/Londré and Linda Persson.

It is not possible to rent studio space from us. When Open Calls are made, these are published on the website.

Ateljé Karl

At the very top of the brewery we find Ateljé Karl, where guest artists move straight into the home and library left by the artist and ceramicist who made Art Lab Gnesta possible, Karl Schultz-Köln. The studio has a floor area of approximately 60 square meters and contains, in addition to the studio and bedroom, a small kitchen and shower/WC.

Ateljé Marita

This studio occupies approximately 30 square meters and has an open structure with studio, kitchenette, sleeping alcove and shower/WC. Marita Mörck-Schultz was an interior designer who also worked with furniture. Some of her sketches and some of her work give the studio a special character.
