Målarmusslans vänner

Målarmusslans vänner (Friends of the thick-shelled river mussel) is a collaborative project with children and an older generation of naturalists in Gnesta, who together delved into the red-listed species thick-shelled river mussel (Unio crassus) and its role in the country of Sörmland’s water flow.

Together with artists Signe Johannessen and Erik Rören, the group produced a new artwork that was inaugurated in the summer of 2023 at various spots in Sörmland.

The project is carried out with support from the Swedish Arts Council.
