Meeting with The spruce bark beetle – climate school with Squid Squad

Friday, June 14, 2pm-5pm

The spruce bark beetle (Granbarkborren) is the insect that causes the most damage in the spruce forests. Modern forestry with only spruce forests, instead of mixed forests, has, together with a warmer and drier climate, led to major attacks. What can we learn about the global shifts we are in the middle of, by approaching a small insect both artistically and biologically? Together with Adam Adobati from the Naturskyddsföreningen (Nature Conservation Association) Daga-Gnesta we learn more, and do various artistic exercises in the forest.

See you outside Art Lab Gnesta at 2 pm for a joint trip to the The spruce bark beetle’s residence. Please let us know if you want to participate, send an mail to caroline.malmstrom@artlabgnesta.se. We offer fika.

Squid Squad is for you between 13-25 years in (and around) Gnesta who want to engage in climate and environment issues in different ways. Read more about Squid Squad
