Gideonsson/Londré are the next artists in the residency exchange programme Swamp Storytelling

Swamp Storytelling combines the working fields of scientific research and artistic production around current environmental issues through a collaboration between Art Lab Gnesta, the Indian enterprise for design, science and learning – Earth CoLab and the Swedish Institute. Artists are invited to a unique field work in close dialogue with scientists to explore new perspectives on issues of environment, climate challenges and disaster management.

Now we have appointed the next artist(s) in the exchange programme, during may Gideonsson/Londré will travel to India to start their one month long research residency departing from when the monsoon arrive to the rainforest of Coorg. Gideonsson/Londré consist of the artists Lisa Gideonsson and Gustaf Londré who have been collaborating since 2009. The duo work to find a common body, the “third”, to be able to produce and gain new knowledge and experiance. The collaboration is time consuming, poetic and often depart from the usage of the common body as material.

Since in 2016 Swamp Storytelling is part of Create in Residence, a bilateral residency program initiated by the Swedish Institute in 2014. The program is implemented in different artistic and creative disciplines, and aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and to build lasting networks between individuals and organizations in Sweden and other countries.
