Artist Paula Urbano will work with questions of migration during her residency at Art Lab Gnesta. By awarding her the prize, we wish to highlight issues of identity and migration starting in today’s Sörmland. Paula Urbano was born in Huddinge and lives in Stockholm. She graduated from Konstfack 2008.

AIR Sörmland is a newly established scholarship for Swedish, Nordic and Baltic contemporary artists who are interested in working for a time in Sörmland. The scholarship is a collaboration between Art Lab Gnesta, Eskilstuna Art Museum, Katrineholms Art Gallery and the Art Consultant for Södermanland Regional Council.

The jury: Caroline Malmström, curator Art Lab Gnesta, Kenneth Åström, director Eskilstuna konstmuseum, Truls Olin, director Katrineholms konsthall, Maria Hallberg, the Art Consultant for Södermanland Regional Council and Per Hasselberg, director of Konstfrämjandet. 46 applications were received.
